NIKE - Girls of Sport

Girls around the world are faced with challenges in sports that boys never have to experience. Gender bias, sexism, and lack of support stops many girls from playing sports before they even graduate from elementary school. Societal pressures and stereotypes makes playing sports more difficult than it needs to be, and loses sight of what makes playing sports fun.

Japan is no different, but the sooner we recognize the issues, the sooner we can make changes for the better.

For this film, Nike Japan, sought to speak to girls across Japan and different age groups to hear from girls and hear their voices about how they feel about sports and what the future holds for them. This is one way to start the discussion across society and create a concerted effort to make girls feel more welcome to start and continue to play sports.
